The August 10, 2015 episode of WWE's Monday Night Raw emanates live from the XFINITY Center in Everett, Washington and features a main event match between Seth Rollins and Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
The show begins with Rollins, who reminds us of his challenge to United States Champion John Cena for a title vs. title match at SummerSlam. He mocks Cena for not replying and says he should just forfeit his title when he gets to Brooklyn. We also learn Cena will be on Tough Enough tomorrow night.
Cena is here via satellite, but it's just his face with Rollins' mouth and voice dubbed over it. He mocks Cena's never give up attitude and his lack of a response to the champ's challenge.
Finally, Rollins says Neville gave a great effort last week but just didn't have enough to take the title.
Cesaro comes out and make fun of Rollins for talking forever. He challenges him for the title but Rollins laughs and says there will be no open challenge tonight. Kevin Owens then comes out and says Cesaro doesn't deserve it, but he does because he has beaten Cena in the past. Rollins tries to squirm out of this, but Randy Orton emerges. He calls Owens fat, says Cesaro has cool sunglasses, and says he deserves a title shot. Rollins tells them all to get lost.
Triple H comes out and mentions that Rollins said he does not care what The Authority thinks. He notes that Cena is 50/50 for SummerSlam, so the title match is in doubt. Therefore, Cesaro, Orton, and Owens will fight in a Triple Threat match and the winner gets a shot at Rollins and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tonight!
Team Bella defeats Team BAD when Brie Bella pins Tamina Snuka. PCB is on commentary for the match. After the bell, Team BAD starts to beat up everyone. Brie comes in and a brawl breaks out. Charlotte and Sasha Banks stare each other down in the ring until the rest of PCB and Team BAD get involved. Team Bella hangs outside the ring as Nikki Bella holds up the Divas Championship.
The New Day defeat Los Matadores.
Randy Orton defeats Cesaro and Kevin Owens when KO goes for the Pop-Up Powerbomb on Cesaro but eats an RKO instead. Orton then RKOs Cesaro and covers him for the win.
Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns cut a promo backstage in which they talk about their brotherhood and point out that Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper are family in name only. Tonight, they test those family ties, and they'll do the same at SummerSlam.
We see an excellent video package about Brock Lesnar and Undertaker at SummerSlam and learn they will both be on Monday Night Raw in Minneapolis next week.
Harper defeats Ambrose with a clothesline after Wyatt and Reigns get involved.
The Miz comes out for Miz TV. He points to one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood, the Arrow himself, Stephen Amell, in the front row. He tells Amell to call him after Stardust runs through him so he can rebrand him and teach him how to act. Miz brings out his guest, Daniel Bryan, who gets loud and sustained cheers and chants from the hometown crowd. Bryan then leads them in a Seahawks chant.
Miz tries to take credit for his success, but Bryan shoots back with a crack about his movie career. Miz asks him what it's like to be injured (as he has never been injured in the WWE) and sit at home thinking about the past. Bryan says he's been busy writing a New York Times bestseller.
Miz says when Bryan was injured, he did the right thing and gave up the Intercontinental Championship, so Ryback should do the same. Big Show comes out and tells Miz to stop whining. He tries to address Bryan, but the crowd chants "Please retire." Big Show shoots back that they need to find someone to retire him. Ryback's music hits and he comes down to the ring. Miz bails, but Bryan throws him back in the ring. Ryback cleans house and flattens Miz with a Meathook Clothesline. He and Bryan celebrate.
We see a video package on Charlotte and then learn that there will be a three-team elimination match at SummerSlam with PCB, Team Bella, and Team BAD.
Rusev vs. Mark Henry ends in a No Contest when Summer Rae attacks Lana. She locks in the Accolade on Lana and a giant flag with Rusev's face on it drops from the ceiling.
Neville defeats King Barrett quickly with the Red Arrow as the Green Arrow watches. Stardust immediately rushes the ring and attacks Neville. He walks to the barricade and snickers at Amell, then shoves him in the face. Amell hops the barricade, jumps on the apron, leaps over the top rope, tackles Stardust, and hammers him a few times. Security immediately rushes the ring and breaks it up. Barrett pulls Stardust out of the ring and Amell cools off and shakes hands with Neville as security leads him away.
Backstage, Triple H asks Stephen Amell if he is alright but tells him guests can't jump in the ring. Neville says Stardust started it, and Triple H says he'll deal with him. Amell suggests Hunter "let us" deal with him instead. Hunter says he isn't "one of us" but Amell yells at him that he's a man and if someone puts his hands on him, then he's going to fight back. He says he'll sign whatever documents necessary to make the match happen. Triple H tells him it's his funeral, and the match is set: Amell and Neville vs. Stardust and Barrett at SummerSlam.
Jojo interviews Sheamus and he comments on the upcoming title match. He reminds everyone he has the Money in the Bank briefcase and can use it when he pleases.
Randy Orton has Seth Rollins dead to rights after the champ tries to go off the top rope and gets caught with an RKO, but Sheamus breaks up the pin. Sheamus then Brogue Kicks the champion and goes to cash in the Money in the Bank contract, but Orton RKOs him. Orton poses as the show goes off the air.
