Tyrese Gibson helped a Compton teenager attend Morehouse College this school year by donating $50,000 for his college tuition. The Furious 7 star is known to give back to those in need, especially within the younger community, and this time, he has changed a young man’s life forever.
Lorenzo Murphy caught the attention of Gibson as he has consistently spread words of wisdom and inspiration on his Instagram page to his followers, where he goes by “Zo The Motivator.” The R&B crooner noticed the teen for having a good head on his shoulders, offering to donate the tuition money to him, letting him join the class of 2019 for this Fall semester.

Murphy captured the stepping-stone moment of his arrival to his Instagram by posting a photo of him standing with the singer and Rev Run, writing an emotional caption:
“None of this would be possible without God, @tyrese, the support from my family and of course, my relentless hard work. Annually, Morehouse is around 45k-50k and as you can imagine, that is a lot of money. I thank God for placing @tyrese in my life. It is because of him believing in me and investing in my future, that I am able to receive my education,” he wrote to his followers.
Despite this incredibly generous deed, Gibson is still making headlines for his protests against mainstream radio stations that are not playing his lead single “Shame.” Although his recent album, Black Rose, went No. 1 on the charts, the singer is still not receiving mainstream airplay, and has been taking to his Facebook to directly address hosts such as Ryan Seacrest and Elvis Duran.
The crooner argues that his songs would be played on their stations if he were white, pointing out Sam Smith and Justin Timberlake as examples.
