Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie Reveal Plot Details for 'Captain America: Civil War'

Talk about Captain America: Civil War is spiking in light of Disney's D23 Expo, where new footage was shown and stars Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie revealed new plot details about the movie.

First, the two spoke to IGN, which asked if the gloves come off in this movie.

"No, it's not MMA," Mackie replied. "We definitely have gloves on, but it's more of a family dispute. That's what's so great about this movie and the characters and how they work together. It's more so when you have a sibling rivalry. The reason people can relate to these characters so much is because they can relate to what they're going through; everybody's fought with one of their siblings or one of their friends, wanted to make up with them, but couldn't figure out the best way to do it and that's kind of how Civil War works."

That's a logical way to explain the plot, especially given how close the members of the Avengers team have become. Evans concurred with his co-star's position. "I feel like families, you have more struggles with the people you love because you care about them," he said. "You can't leave them, you have to make this work. It just feels like when you have a family dynamic of people that you may not get along with, but you can't just cut them out of your life, that's what makes the stakes so high."

IGN also asked what new components we can expect in this movie and Mackie replied that the characters have new costumes. Furthermore, there will be more action sequences "done in a broader capacity."

And with so many characters in there, it's understandable if some fans are worried that the film, which is supposed to be centered around Captain America, could be bloated. But Evans assured fans not to worry. "Marvel has a lot of balls in the air. You've got a lot of movies that they're trying to bring together," he said. "The truth is, there's a lot of things they're trying to marry, and when you have characters like Falcon and Winter Soldier these movies are really effective in progressing those storylines. Even in just this movie alone, the relationship with Cap and Falcon and Winter Soldier."
