The highly anticipated hacker drama, Mr. Robot, continues on USA Network. In Episode 9, Eps1.8_m1rr0r1ng.qt, will Elliot (Rami Malek) and anarchist Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) be able to keep Angela (Portia Doubleday) away from Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström)'s wrath?
In a room filled with antiques and forgotten equipment, Mr. Robot answers a call and promises to fix the motherboard. An angry comer tells him that his son stole his money. Mr. Robot refuses to give back the stolen money and gets yelled at by the customer.
Mr. Robot takes the stolen money, offers to take his son to the movies, and starts coughing. His son sole but deep down inside, he is a good kid. Some people are just pricks and that's what matters in the world. Time passes by as the Mr. Robot store becomes a Bank for Evil Corp.
Elliot meets with Mr. Robot, who has wondering how long it would take to recognize him. Elliot screams at him, but Mr. Robot was trying to handle things gently. Elliot says he saw his father die. Mr. Robot reveals they are people watching them, who don't want them to work together. They have been trying to control him all along.
Mr. Robot promises to reveal everything, but they have to stick with the plan. Elliot has to stop asking questions and follow Mr. Robot out the door. Gideon (Michael Gill) hurries up eating breakfast, revealing All Safe is hanging from a thread; admitting he is a failure. Angela meets with her lawyer and admits she quit her job.
Her lawyer wants Angela to find another job, away from the case. Darlene calls Angela and ask her to help him find Elliot. Darlene and Angela talk about Elliot, revealing that his life got worse when she showed up again. At the train station, Elliot reveals he remembers a game where he picked the safest car.
As the train heads towards its destination, Elliot wonders why his dead father is sitting right across from him. At the hospital, Tyrell stares at his baby as his wife recounts a hidden part of her past. His wife no longer wants him but in order to be with the family, he has to fix it.
Gideon arrives at a burnt building as Tyrell meets with an executive. It turns out the executive knows Tyrell is a person of interest because of his advances. Tyrell cannot work for Evil Corp due to the murder investigation. Tyrell bursts out yelling, which disappoints the executive.
Arriving at his childhood home, Elliot throws Mr. Robot into the window. Darlene then shows up at Angela's home looking for Elliot. The two then discover the broken window and shattered glass. At the cemetery, Mr. Robot promises he will never leave him alone.
When Darlene asks who he's taking to, Elliot see this father's tombstone. Angela points out he' bleeding from his head. Elliot realizes he is indeed Mr. Robot. Back at the train stop, Angela promises he will be okay, but Eliot doesn't believe it. Angela wishes she could talk to her mother, even if she isn't real.
Darlene asks Elliot if he remembers starting FSociety. Gideon then discovers about the murder and Tyrell's resignation. Angela walks home and finds Terry Colby (Bruce Altman) at her home. Terry has a job to offer her at Evil Corp, thinking she'd make a good businesswoman.
Evil Corp will settle the lawsuit, which won't even hurt them. Terry realizes if she wants to change things, she has to do it from within.
Back at home, Elliot doesn't know know what's real or not. He's not even sure about the hack; it wasn't him. Darlene tells him, deep down inside, FSociety was his idea and it's the right thing to do.
Tyrell enters his room, wanting to know Elliot's grand plan, and threatens to kill him. Elliot then takes Elliot to Society's hideout. They're finally working together.
