Carrie Underwood might have just welcomed a baby into the family earlier this year, but don't expect her to take any breaks from the music business anytime soon, unless they are "Smoke Breaks," of course. The American Idol winner has just released her new single today, titled "Smoke Break," making fans rejoice because it is the first single off her upcoming album. The country crooner hasn't released a new album since 2013's Blown Away, not counting her Greatest Hits LP, which was released in December, but this single release marks a new era in Carrie's career: the Storyteller era.
That's right, fans of the songbird better get ready because on October 23, Underwood will be releasing her fifth studio album, Storyteller. What a fitting name for a singer who has recorded some of our favorite storytelling songs, i.e., Jesus Take the Wheel, All American Girl, and Before He Cheats.

"I love the storytelling aspect of Country music... it's one of the reasons I always wanted to be a part of it," the singer explained, according to Rolling Stone.
Much like the above-mentioned songs, the latest track, "Smoke Break," tells the story of the working class, who struggle to "make a living." She explained to her fans how the story for the song came to be.
"We were writing and kept taking breaks to go outside because we were getting a little stuck on a song we were already working on," the star explained via a Q&A on Facebook. "It was so beautiful outside that we had a hard time focusing, so we decided to write a song about takings breaks! 'Smoke Break' seemed like a great tittle, so we ran with it!"
The song is also currently siting at number 2 on the iTunes charts, and we couldn't be more excited for Miss Underwood.
