After announcing that George Clooney will be the very first guest of his upcoming Late Show, Stephen Colbert has dropped some more information about his premiere week – like the entire roundup of guests for Week 1. After saying goodbye to his friend and former boss Jon Stewart on the finale of The Daily Show, it appears safe to say that all eyes are on Colbert to see how he'll transition into the spot once held for so long by noted comedian David Letterman.
Of course, if you've been keeping up with the promos and coverage coming from The Late Show, it doesn't look like he'll have too much trouble.
The Week 1 guests on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert are as follows:
Tuesday, Sept. 8:
Actor George Clooney
Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush
Jon Batiste and Stay Human (with special guests)
Wednesday, Sept 9:
Actress Scarlett Johansson
Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk
Musical Guest Kendrick Lamar (with an interview)
Thursday, Sept. 10:
Uber CEO Travis Kalanick
Musical Guest Toby Keith
Friday, Sept. 11
Comedian, Trainwreck star Amy Schumer
Author Stephen King
Musical Guest Troubled Waters (with an interview)
As mentioned, Colbert recently stopped by the final episode of The Daily Show to say goodbye to Stewart. During his spot, he gave a heartfelt goodbye to his friend and thanked him for everything—specifically for teaching he and all of the crew how to be better humans.
Take a look at the spot below. And yes, that's Jon Stewart showing emotion:
