'From Dusk Till Dawn' Season 2 Episode 2 Recap Wilmer Valderrama, Danny Trejo 'In A Dark Time'

Based on the cult classic from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, El Rey Network continues Season 2 of From Dusk Till Dawn. In Episode 2, are Richie (Zane Holtz) Gecko,  The Regulator (Danny Trejo), and Carlos Madrigal (Wilmer Valderrama) "In A Dark Time?"

Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez (Jesse Garcia) has just woken up, buried under the ground. After pleading for help, he finds himself standing face-to-face with Richie. Freddie wakes up screaming after Richie bites him in his nightmare.  

Though Freddie is trying his trying to protect his family, his wife is suspicious of the notes he draws every morning. After going back to work, Freddie takes a look at the burnt bodies and lies in front of the cameras that the Geckos are dead.

In front of Earl McGraw's tombstone, Freddie confesses why he lied about the Geckos. If he stopped chasing after them, the Geckos promises not to go after his family. Earl suddenly crawls out of the ground and craves a star symbol on Freddie's arm. Freddie's wife discovers his star symbol and drawings lead to another murder site. 

Elsewhere, back at the Titty Twister, Scott Fuller (Brandon Soo Hoo) overhears that the bonds are actually a map to something no one knows. When Lord Amancio Malvado (Esai Morales) learns that Carlos has escaped from the labyrinth, he has a special mission for him. With his hair and beard shaved on, Carlos has to go back down and find someone for him.  

In their run-down motel, Kate Fuller (Madison Davenport) and Seth are planning their next heist. They plan on stealing from the extortionist as he opens the vault. To get to the vault, they have to get past the door to the tattoo shop run by Sonja (Briana Evian), who is working on their fake passports. 

Seth learns that Kate has a crush on their lookout, the vampire named Rafa. While Kate learns how to pick the lock, they watch the news and discover the Geckos are dead. Seth knows Richie is behind it but he doesn't know why Freddie would lie for them. 

Meanwhile, The Regulator is pulled over by a police officer. After a quick-draw, the Regulator blasts off the police officer's hand and chows down on his eyeball. The Regulator is suddenly flooded with the officer's memories, who didn't even know he spotted Seth at Sonja's tattoo shop.

Back at the labyrinth, Carlos and Scott pick up Sex Machine (Jake Busey), who has been turned. After reading the ancient text, Sex Machine says the Savini Codex will tell them where they have to go next. Unfortunately, Sex Machine doesn't realize Freddie has already broken into his place and stolen the codex.

During the heist, after Sonja is knocked out cold, The Regular wants Seth because he can take him to Santantico. During the intense shootout, Rafa saves Kate as he jumps on top of the Regulator and bites him. As Rafa sacrifices himself, Kate and Seth drive off into the sunlight.

As Scott discovers Carlos now has silver fangs, Kate realizes she's not ready. After Seth yells that her brother is dead, he stops the car, gives her half the money, and drops Kate off in the middle of the road. Angry at himself, Seth drives back but he doesn't pick her up.

Seth hands Kate the rest of the money, gives her the car keys, and walks away.
