There are still no suspects, motives or intentions in the shooting death of Savannah State University student, Christopher Starks.

According to the AJC, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was still conducting interviews over the weekend by eyewitnesses after the DeKalb County native was shot and killed during an altercation.

"They have talked to a lot of witnesses but still have a lot to do," Scott Dutton, director of public affairs for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation revealed.

Dutton claimed that they have no suspect and details on a motive aren't clear.

"There're obviously other leads that they are following but they haven't narrowed the scope to any particular individual," Dutton explained.

Starks was only 22-years-old when he died. He was inside of the student union building at Savannah State University when he was shot last Thursday. Starks was taken to Memorial Hospital, where he later died that night.

A former football success, Starks played the sport at his former high schools, Southwest DeKalb and Miller Grover and had a scholarship to play at Appalachian State University, in Boone, North Carolina after he graduated in 2012.

Starks transferred closer to home and attended Savannah State as a junior where he focused on becoming an aspiring musician.

In the aftermath of Starks' shooting, the campus is trying to figure out how to make the campus safer.

Dutton revealed that the union is a crowded area, but believes the shooting happened in an isolated incident.

Savannah State University's president, Cheryl D. Dozier previously released a statement, which read:

"The Savannah State University family is grieving today. Each of our students' lives are precious and valued. It is a sad day any time a life is taken by senseless violence. And this is a particularly sad day for the Savannah State University family following the loss of one of our students, Mr. Christopher Starks."

She continued, "Our deepest and heartfelt condolences are extended to the entire Starks family, his parents and his extended family. To all of our Savannah State University students, our faculty, our staff and friends, we want you to know that we grieve with you today on the loss of your loved one."

MStars News has learned that Starks family is turning to their faith as they mourn the death of their loved one.

According to 11Alive, Starks' family claimed he wasn't a boy in the streets or anything like that. He was actually the opposite and in the church every Sunday playing instruments with his family.

Starks' uncle, Pastor Collier Starks said, "My father's a pastor, my brother's a minister. Every Sunday, like all of us, he played instruments at my father's church. He knew the word of prayer."

Jamal, (Sparks' younger brother) played football last Friday night and honored his older brother by wearing his jersey number. Jamal, a freshman, played on the varsity team just as his brother had when he was in high school.

Sparks' father coaches the football team at Miller Grove High School.

Less than 24 hours after his big brother was shot to death, Jamal made sure to keep his memory alive while playing football.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this emotional time. RIP Christopher.
