Josh Duggar's family is showing no love to the former 19 Kids and Counting star, and that includes family friends, like his sister Jessa Seewald's, father-in-law, Michael Seewald. MStars News has learned that the father of Ben Seewald is speaking out at length on Josh's sex scandal and claims that Josh, "sadly deceived us all."
According to People, Mr. Seewald wrote a lengthly message on his blog stating that he was supporting the Duggar family when news first broke out that Josh molested at least six under-aged girls, including Jessa when they were younger, but now he revealed that things have changed following Josh's cheating scandal on Ashley Madison.
The statement released on the family blog voiced support for the rest of the Duggar family who was caught up in the scandal surrounding Josh Duggar and read, "In commenting on this I do not wish to add any more distress to a family still recovering from the indignity of the publication of a police report detailing Josh's sins as a teenager. Though I have never gotten to know Josh very well, I have great respect for his sorrowing parents and immense sympathy for his dear wife Anna and their four children."
MStars News previously reported that Josh and Anna Duggar give birth to their fourth child over the summer. Their daughter was named Meredith Grace. She joined big brothers, Michael James Duggar and Marcus Anthony Duggar and older sister, Mackynzie Renée Duggar.
Seewald continued by speaking on the sorrow he felt over the entire situation but that he still felt obligated to speak out. He said, "I myself have been mourning over the irreparable damage that has been done to many by this whole circumstance, yet the reason I feel obliged to make these remarks is an overwhelming desire to vindicate the name of God."
The soon-to-be grandfather said that while it doesn't surprise him that many people, even Christians, cheat and lie but that what troubles him are the ones who claim that they are "Christians" and were caught up hack of the infamous adultery website, proving themselves hypocrites and damaging the standing of all Christians in the eyes of many.
"It is not shocking that men and women lie, cheat, steal, hate, fornicate, and commit any and all other sins. It happens every second of every minute of every hour of every day....By professing that we love God with our mouth, yet secretly serving sin, we are found to be hypocrites."
Seewald didn't stop himself from being harsh! He also called out Josh claiming that the man who took vows in his marriage and talked about the same God he served "deceived" all. Seewald blasted Josh's secret sex life and said that the Duggar "violated" his own marriage.
"It distresses me to say that Josh Duggar's greatest sin is a byproduct of the sum total of his secretly sinful lifestyle. That is, that by his hypocrisy, he blasphemed the name of God. He claimed to be a Christian, but by his deeds he has suggested otherwise. With the name of God on his lips he lived a covert and extensive lifestyle of evil. While proudly saying things like, 'Our family is like the epitome of conservative values,' he was looking at porn and soliciting affairs. He took a job at the Family Research Council that exists to promote the traditional family, all the while undermining his own family by violating his marriage covenant. He flourished in the fame of his family and the success of their television show, all the while betraying their trust and Christian values..."
Jessa Seewald's father-in-law called Josh a "pretender," and warned readers of his blog not to look at Josh as an example to justify their own sins.
"To the person reading this, I want to caution you. Josh was a pretender. True Christians fail often, but their lives are truly being conformed to the image of Christ. Do not look at Josh and justify your own sins by dismissing the reality of genuine faith and a holy God. When you stand before God, you will not be compared to hypocritical Christians. You will be judged by God's holy law. When you are found guilty, you will not get to say, 'But what about Josh? I'm better than he is.' God's wrath will burn against you because of your own sins."
In the midst of her brother's shameful behavior, Jessa and Ben have tried to remain focused on the upcoming birth of their first child. Baby Seewald is due on the couple's first wedding anniversary, November 1st.
On Monday, Jessa led her followers and fans to a 3 minute message from Pastor John Piper that explains "The Passions that Prevent Adultery."
