J. Cole's friend from high school took to social media to share a story of the rapper fulfilling a promise to a lucky female fan in a heartbreaking situation. According to the Facebook page of Matt Starks, who was a close friend of his, the North Carolina MC flew down one of his die-hard fans, Cierra Bosarge, from New Jersey, so she could see his hometown show in Fayetteville, completing his Forest Hills Drive tour. All this after attending the fan's high school graduation ceremony.  While the special guests of Drake and Jay Z were one of the more notable moments of the night, Starks remarked more on speaking to Bosarge, who was right near him in the audience.

He recalled that him and his wife asked her how much tickets had gone for, with her not knowing that answer, revealing that Cole flew her to the show himself. Starks then described her situation, commenting on the fact that both of her parents are in prison, and were unable to attend her graduation.

Earlier this year, Bosarge got a surprise visit from Cole at her graduation ceremony after she wrote him countless letters describing her situation, with him actually replying, stating that he would only attend if she got into a 4-year college. Once she was accepted into multiple schools, he kept his promise and showed up to ceremony this past May.  He also agreed to pay for her books and tuition. On top of being able to start school this fall, thanks to Cole, Bosarge was able to be in attendance of Cole’s most special show on his yearlong tour.

Starks made sure to comment on the fact that Cole never publicized that he was doing any of this for his female fan, because he wanted to truly help her. In a time when most celebrity stories are of arrests, drug use or infidelity is a breath of fresh air to hear about a celebrity standing up and reaching out to help others.
