Venus Williams has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Indiana University in her off-time from tennis. The championship-winning tennis star has finally been able to pick up her diploma from the college on her way to a tournament in Cincinatti, after completing the program back in 2011. Many celebrities have been given honorary degrees from universities, but Williams can now say that she has put in all the work to earn one herself. Many may believe that Williams – and yes, her sister Serena – doesn’t need a degree, being that she is a famous athlete with endorsement deals, but there was a bigger plan for the milestone. The star athlete, who is actually in the second round of the U.S. Open so far, spoke on the huge achievement in a press statement:
"I've learned so much. It was always my dream to have a business degree, and I ended up going to art school so many times, but in the back of my head I felt like I needed the tools to be a better leader, to be a better planner, to be better at all of the things I wanted to do in my businesses because I'm so hands-on."

Williams currently owns a clothing line, an interior design firm and has co-ownership of the Miami Dolphins football team. She will be putting her degree to good use as she uses her knowledge from the business administration program to build all of those brands.
This isn’t the first degree from a school that the 35-year-old has earned, either. Williams also earned an associate degree in fashion design from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale back in 2007.
You can catch Williams currently battling it out on the tennis court at the U.S. Open in order to earn the championship title for the first time in 14 years. Ironically enough, her biggest competitor is her sister, Serena Williams, who is expected to win her 22nd Grand Slam singles title.
