Nike's got a new product line equipped with Therma-Sphere Max technology workout gear and they've decided to reach out to the New York Giant's receiver, Victor Cruz, to model it. Find out more about this team-up below!
According to Nike, this new revolutionary technology is meant to help athletes with thermoregulation: maintaining the body's heat at a balanced level (so your body doesn't get too hot or too cold).
"When an athlete trains in cold temperatures without appropriate apparel, the body strives harder to maintain thermal balance, which impairs performance," says Barry Spiering, the Director of Applied Apparel Research for the Nike Explore Team Sport Research Lab. "The goal of our research team is to provide scientific insights to the apparel development team so they can create innovative solutions that help athlete performance, perception and protection."
Nike's accomplished this by creating a product in which athletes can avoid wearing too many layers (which tends to lead to overheating the body) and too few layers (which tends to lead to the body being cold). The product features a three-layer composite material, which specifically addresses the body temperature regulation issue. It will keep athletes comfortable, dry and in style.
"The Nike Therma-Sphere Max Men's Training Jacket is the first Nike training product that features the spacer thermal design," senior product line manager for Nike Athletic Training Becky O'Flanagan said. "It allows the body to breathe, helping the athlete focus on performance."
According to Complex Magazine, the Giants receiver who was chosen to sponsor this campaign is featured in the look book for the Therma-Sphere Max Technology. Cruz has also been featured in campaigns for Gap, Givenchy and KITH, making Cruz the perfect fit for Nike's new product line, especially with football season right around the corner.
