This past year, Ronda Rousey has been taking over the media. She's gone from being "that pretty woman who is kicking ass in MMA" to an invincible and influential woman who is the first and current UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion. Rousey's also stood alongside The Rock at the WWE's 2015 WrestleMania event earlier this year, released her autobiography, My Fight/Your Fight, and is now promoting Carl's Jr. and Hardee's new breakfast sandwich!
Carl's Jr. and Hardee's new breakfast item is called "the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast Breakfast Sandwich." It features a golden, fluffy folded egg, melting American cheese, your choice of sausage, ham or bacon, all drizzled with delicious maple syrup sauce and sandwiched between two slices of Cinnamon Swirl French Toast.
According to Eater, Carl's Jr. and Hardee's actually swapped their original model for the commercial for Ronda Rousey. So, why did Carl's Jr. and Hardee's choose Rousey to promote the sandwich? According to Brad Haley, chief marketing officer for Carl's Jr. and Hardee's restaurants, "Ronda Rousey is impressive in so many ways and we're huge fans."
"While she's best known for her ultimate fighting ability, she also has a sweet side, which made her the perfect choice to star in the new Cinnamon Swirl French Toast Breakfast Sandwich ad," adds Haley. "They both pack a mean one-two punch."
The sandwich is said to be the perfect combination of the sweet and savory breakfast items American breakfasts consists of; it's the perfect balance.
"The new Cinnamon Swirl French Toast Breakfast Sandwich nailed it," said Haley. "The cinnamon swirl French toast would be great to eat by itself but, combined with eggs, your choice of breakfast meat, cheese and maple syrup sauce, it makes for the kind of memorable morning meal that we always try to create for our Carl's Jr. and Hardee's customers."
According to Investor Center, the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast Breakfast Sandwich is available for $2.99 and may also be ordered in a combo meal with Hash Browns and a drink for $4.69. Prices may vary by location.
The commercial, featuring UFC Champion Ronda Rousey, is a staring contest between the viewer and Rousey. She's got her mean, fighter-look on, while Carl's Jr./Hardee's works their way to get the viewer craving their breakfast sandwich as much as possible. You can view the commercial below:
