Despite his recent admission to having lied about surviving the attacks on 9/11 at the World Trade Center in New York City, comedian and star of FX's The League Steve Rannazzisi's Comedy Central special aired with no problem whatsoever.
TMZ reports that Breaking Dad – the name of his special – aired on the famed comedy network this past Saturday evening.
Of course, we're not so sure how the ratings for the special were, but we can undoubtedly say he was not as lucky with Buffalo Wild Wings – the spicy chain cut ties with the comic following word that his lie was discovered.
Last week, Rannazzisi admitted on Twitter to having lied about being in the attacks on 9/11. It's a story he's kept with for years.
Some time ago, we're assuming when he began gaining some fame, The League star claimed that he worked for Merrill Lynch when the first plane hit the towers. He further fabricated that he was able to escape the building and still has nightmares about it to this day.
Which, by the way, was crap.
After The New York Times had evidence that proved otherwise, Rannazzisi came clean in a 9-tweet post, starting with the below:
As a young man, I made a mistake that I deeply regret and for which apologies may still not be enough.

It seems as if not many people forgave the comedian. One Twitter user wrote, "@SteveRannazzisi Swiping a candy bar is a mistake. What you did is a psychopathic lie. You should rot in hell."
Another told him, "@SteveRannazzisi Delete your account, a$$hole."
It was profoundly disrespectful to those who perished and those who lost loved ones. The stupidity and guilt I have felt for many years has — Stephen Rannazzisi (@SteveRannazzisi) September 16, 2015
not abated. It was an early taste of having a public persona, and I made a terrible mistake.
