The group will be led by the Joker-esque psychotic Jerome (Cameron Monaghan).
In our recent recap, after being fried from the force, Jim knew the only way back was to call in a favor from Penguin. While Barbara (Erin Richards) made herself at home at Arkham Asylum, Theo was just at the beginning stages of his sinister plot. After breaking into the caves, Bruce Wayne discovered his father's letter waiting for him. Bruce and Jim are at a crossroads as they willl earn their true calling.
In an interview with Comic Book, executive producer Bruno Heller reveals "The long arc of the show is Bruce Wayne's journey of discovery down into the depths of the physical and meta-physical world of Gotham. The Court of Owls is a brilliant conceit that will absolutely be part of our storytelling. I just won't tell you when."
Writer Scott Snyder, who created the Court of Owls, tells IGN, "All of us on Team Batman are genuinely thrilled and honored that the Court of Owls is part of the storytelling plan for Gotham. The show is constantly looking at the mythology from new angles and we can't wait to see what it does with the Court! Huge thanks to Bruno Heller and all involved!"
In the New 52 Universe, Thomas Wayne Jr. is supposedly the illegitimate brother of Bruce Wayne. As the leader of the Court of Owls, Thomas seeks to destroy Bruce because he wants what's rightfully his; including the family wealth. The Court of Owls are perhaps the ones responsible who orchestrated the murder of Bruce's parents.
