Sega teases a special guest for their upcoming PS4 exclusive crime/gangster videogame,Yakuza 6. Before its official release date in 2016, critically acclaimed Takeshi Kitano, also known as Beat Takeshi, will be making his playable character debut in the gameplay footage.
According to Wired, due to the bestselling success of Ryu Ga Gotoku, their Yakuza gaming series, Sega has plans to celebrate its 2005 anniversary. Sega intends on releasing a high-def remake of the first game for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan on January 21, 2016. A sequel will be followed up later in fall 2016 for Ryu Ga Gotoku 6, Yakza 6 on PlayStation 4.
As IGN reports, during a Japanese live stream, Sega made a huge announcement by revealing that critically actor and director Takeshi Kitano, aka Beat Takeshi, will be a payable character in the game. Supposedly, a short clip of the big announcement was uploaded to YouTube by user Nammo P.
Film buffs will instantly recall Kitano's earlier dramas happen to be about the Yakuza gangsters and the police force. Critics and fans love his performance in Battle Royale, where high school fight themselves fighting for survival before their collars explode. Based on the controversial and praised novel, the multi-talented actor/writer/director played Kitano, the frightening antagonist and instructor of the Battle Royale program.
Though the video has been taken done, Forbes took a snapshot of the acclaimed movie director appearing as himself in the upcoming videogame. Notice the detailed details as Kitano definitely looks the part of a gangster. Not only is Kitano allowing to share his likeness, he will also be voicing the character tin the game.
The storyline will continue Kazuma Kiryu's rise through the ranks of the Yakuza and his ongoing conflicts with the rival factions of other notorious crime families.
As a PS4 exclusive, Yakuza 6 will be released sometime in the Fall of 2016.
