The October 5, 2015 episode of WWE's Monday Night Raw will emanate live from the TD Garden in Boston and will feature an appearance by Brock Lesnar to finally build to his match with The Undertaker at Hell in a Cell on Sunday, October 25. We have a full preview for you, so let's dive into the details.
WWE has advertised Lesnar to appear on tonight's show, though the company has not said what exactly he will be doing during the broadcast. The educated guess is that he will make six figures to stand there looking menacing while Paul Heyman spouts another fantastic promo. But let's back up a bit to see how we got here.
Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker had their highly-anticipated rematch at SummerSlam earlier this year after Lesnar famously ended Taker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania 30 last year. At Night of Champions last month, a promo package aired for Brock Lesnar's Go to Hell Tour.
The first stop on that tour was a match with Big Show at WWE's Live from MSG event on Saturday night, which was another of the house show specials aired live on the WWE Network, similar to Beast in the East on July 4. The company spent two weeks building up Show as a legitimate threat with clean and quick victories over Mark Henry and Cesaro, along with some interviews and promos.
When the two big men finally squared off at Madison Square Garden, the giant managed to land three chokeslams, much to the surprise of Lesnar, Heyman, and the fans. But the Beast quickly recovered and took Show on a journey to Suplex City, complete with two F5s.
Now that Lesnar has dispatched the giant, we can finally move onto the proper build for the match with Undertaker at Hell in a Cell. Many fans complained that WWE announced the match so meekly at Night of Champions and then barely addressed it afterwards. But as Paul Heyman correctly pointed out in a recent interview, he and Lesnar made the case for a rematch the night after SummerSlam on Monday Night Raw. Tonight, The Advocate and The Beast can truly turn their focus toward Undertaker in three weeks, and I for one can't wait to see it all.
Elsewhere, Seth Rollins is still dealing with Corporate Kane and The Demon Kane, who is clearly coming for his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It seems like only a matter of time before this match becomes official for the pay-per-view, so let's just get it booked tonight and we can all get on with our lives.
Finally, Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt have perhaps the best feud in the company going right now. It's simple, it's direct, and it's a ton of fun. It's just two guys who have beef and want to put the other guy down for good. And from that, we've gotten tremendous brawls, perhaps none better than the one we got on Raw last week. Roman challenged Bray to a Hell in a Cell match on SmackDown three days later, which is going to be a blast.
