'Gotham' Season 2 Episode 4 Recap: Will Michael Chiklis, Robin Lord Taylor Hit 'Strike Force?'

Fox continues Season 2 of the Batman prequel series, Gotham. In Episode 4, will detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and mob boss Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) are in a danger situation with rival Nathaniel Barnes (Michael Chiklis)'s Strike Force?

Penguin pulls out his shotgun and blasts the ceiling during his mob meeting. He wants to know who orchestrated the Arkham breakout; everyone thought he did it. Penguin wants discipline over war and blood, ordering his permission before a hit. He meets Tigress (Jessica Lucas), who has an invitation from Theo Galavan (James Frain). 

Captain Nathaniel Barnes shows up at the precinct, giving a rousing speech, and firing the corrupt cops. Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) and Jim watch Barnes as he places a dirty cop under arrest. After calling him a troublemaker and fighter, Barnes puts Jim as his second-in-command. 

Bullock thinks Barnes won't last, warning Jim. Theo then meets with Penguin and introduces him to Barbara (Erin Richards). Penguin realizes Theo orchestrated everything. Tigress though think he is the king of garbage. Theo dreams of a cleaner and brighter Gotham, planning to destroy residential areas.

Theo plans to wipe out the competition for the mayoral race. Though Penguin refuses, Tigress shows he has his mother (Carol Kane) held hostage and in chains. Penguin was kill in order to save his mother.

Barnes then calls Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) to wake up Jm and tell him to arrive at the academy. Barnes has a list of cadets who are not corrupt and full of hope. They meet Garrett, Josie, and Martinez of Unit Alpha. While Theo is given a medal of bravery, he announces his mayoral candidacy after a staged shooting.

Following Theo's orders, Penguin commits his next murder. Back at school, Bruce (David Mazouz) is being bullied by his classmates. Alfred (Sean Pertwee) then punches Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) for the death of Reggie and tells her to leave Bruce alone. 

Nygma (Corey Michael Smith) argues with himself before getting the courage to ask out Ms. Kringle. During the murder investigation, an eye witness tells Jim and Bullock she spotted Penguin. 

Theo has dinner with Bruce to discuss his parent's murder. Bruce then meets with Silver St. Cloud (Natalie Alyn Lind), Theo's ward. Butch (Drew Powell) promises to find Penguin's mother as Zsasz kills the next mayoral candidate. The strike force arrives as Zsasz ends up blasting away at the candidate's bodyguards.  

In the shootout, one of the strike force members gets hit as Zsasz makes his escape. Revealing that he talks to a stronger version of himself, Nygma ends up making out with Kringle.

Penguin argues with Jim  and threatens to reveal their bribe. The two will face whatever is coming to them. The first assignment of the strike force is to take down the Penguin. While Bruce's romance with Silver grows, Selina is all by herself.

Penguin is filled with rage knowing his mother is still missing.
