After Chicago Bulls' star point guard, Derrick Rose suffered yet another injury by getting elbowed in the face during the first day of practice this season, his availability for the first NBA game of regular season is indefinite.

Rose underwent surgery for an orbital fracture around his left eye and as a result, he is still having trouble opening his eye, as it causes him to have double vision, as reported by UpRoxx.

Apparently, Bulls fan have nothing to worry about. On Wednesday, Rose spoke with reporters and said even though he's having trouble opening one of his eyes without seeing double, he thinks he can play fairly well if he's forced to play.

"I can't open my other eye. That's when I get double vision," he said via Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson. "With one eye open, I think I could play pretty good," he said.

The Bulls probably won't actually let Derrick Rose play with one eye because that's quite hazardous. Coach Fred Hoiberg  even admitted that he won't take Rose up on the offer, since earlier this week, Hoiberg said Rose will probably be out for the rest of preseason and maybe longer.

"He's probably at least a week away from that happening to where he's able to get out and work up a sweat, and then hopefully it's full go from there where we can get him back in some contact drills," Hoiberg said, as reported by ESPN on Tuesday, adding, "He's getting better, his vision's getting better and hopefully we'll get him back here soon."

But at least we know Rose is good to go, even though he was only cleared for non-contact activity, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"I'm anxious to play," he said as per Johnson's Twitter. "I'm getting jittery just watching [my teammates] play."

Since Rose is pretty comfortable playing with one eye, he's also made claims of possibly playing with the mask on for the rest of his career, quite similar to former teammate Richard Hamilton. (Given he actually makes it through his career with no further injuries hindering the continuation of his career):

"I hate getting my face touched, so if I'm feeling it and we're playing good, you might see it for the rest of my career," Rose said.

Hopefully Rose will be back by the start of the season on October 27 against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, with both eyes working.
