Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to be released in March 2016 and has focused its promotional spots on business tycoon and supervillain Lex Luthor. Last week at New York Comic Con, the fictional company LexCorp had a booth and sponsored free Wi-Fi for everyone. The corporation also launched a website that teased something big was coming this winter for Batman v Superman fans. Of course, conspiracy fans will notice the timing coincidence of LexCorp's website rise with the sudden disappearance of the Instagram account of artist Sean Ray, who spilled the beans on whether or not Doomsday would be in the film.
Over the weekend, the website LexCorp.io was updated and is now asking for e-mail addresses. Hopefully it won't be spamming fans, but instead keeping them updated on movie news, providing bonus material and teasing more marketing promotions. After signing up, fans receive a confirmation that states, "Thank you for signing up! We'll send you the latest information on Lex/OS soon."
The site's streamlined video introduction is followed by the corporation's mission statement. It states, "Lexcorp is building a better tomorrow, today. Lexcorp provides expertise and research to the global marketplace and cross-industry innovations that transform and inspire. We build products that help millions of homes, businesses and governments work better."
The film's star-studded cast includes Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman), Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Jeremy Irons (Alfred) and Holly Hunter. Jason Momoa will also make a cameo as Aquaman.
There have been rumors about Doomsday also appearing in the film as a villain, however 3D character/Creature Artist Sean Ray of Moving Pictures Company, who is one of the film's visual effects shops, recently stated on Instagram that he did not make the cut. He celebrated the end of the project in a post with the text, "Bat's A Wrap."
In the caption, he wrote, "Batman v Superman is wrapped, one the best films i have worked on! My inner child is happy! I'm the biggest superman fan ever! So it was a dream to work on it! Looking forward to seeing it on the big screen in March! I can't wait !! Good job everyone who worked on it."
A fan commented on the post asking if he created the model for Doomsday and in a surprising move, Ray responded and stated, "Hahaha lol unfortunately he's not in the film, maybe in the man of steel sequel or justice league film who knows."
Both Ray's post and Instagram account have both been deleted without explanation so one can only speculate that perhaps he might have he crossed the line with sharing information about the upcoming film due to non-disclosure or other agreements. It looks like fans will have to wait until the film's release to see if the villain makes the movie and as for Ray, we hope he didn't get into too much trouble with the studio and their legal team.
