Cartoon Network's Adult Swim aired the season premiere of the Seth Green and Matthew Senreich's Robot Chicken DC Comics Special 3. Twitter had lots to say about the Magical Friendship special which lampooned the bromance between DC superheroes, Batman and Superman.
As we previously mentioned, Green, Senreich, and the animation crew behind Robot Chicken collaborated with DC Comics for their second superhero sequel. Robot Chicken's DC Comics Special II: Villains In Paradise featured voice work from Alfred Molina (Matador) playing the role mastermind Lex Luthor. Now in Magical Friendship, according to the DC Comics' official website, the side-splitting, stop-motion specia features Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, Burt Ward, Geoff Johns, Tom Root and Tom Sheppard jump into the DC universe, where lex Luthor's boy band, Sexx II Men, plans on rocking your world.
In an interview with 411 Mania, the Austin Powers actor and the The Flash writer reveal show the idea of Composite Superman came about.
Green states, "That character was the inspiration for our Christmas hero, Composite Santa Claus. And so when an opportunity to finally get Composite Superman into a story and really point out that the Batman side was wholly vulnerable on several levels, that was something we couldn't resist."
Johns adds, "I just love that Superman names him Composite Superman before Batman gets a chance to do anything."
