During the 2013 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans selected 6-foot-10 linebacker Brennan Williams in the third round. He ended up spending his rookie season on injured reserve and was out of football for all of 2014. Due to this dilemma, Williams struggled to find a home on any team's roster (he even played with the Jacksonville Jaguars for some time).
Just last week, Williams was briefly signed to the practice squad of the New England Patriots. He only practiced with the team once before being released a couple of days later, as reported by CageSideSeats. The Patriots didn't feel as though Williams would be ready to play as soon as possible considering the fact that he'd been sitting out with a bone bruise in his leg, as reported by NESN.
Apparently Williams took this rejection as a sign to walk away from football, as he now plans to pursue a career in professional wrestling. Brennan has been an avid wrestling fan for years, and is beyond excited at the potential of joining the WWE. His excitement has him posting preliminary uniform designs on his Twitter:

According to TMZ Sports, Williams has the support of Booker T, WWE Hall of Famer, who has been training him, as well. Brennan is in Booker T's school (in Houston, called WXF), and is a part of his promo company.
TMZ also spoke with Booker T as he spoke on Brennan's ability and potential in the WWE:

He goes on to say Brennan might have an advantage over those guys ... cause he actually has a deep love and understanding of the sport.
"Most of the time with NFL players, wrestling is a sort of last resort but Brennan was actually a fan before anything. I'm more than glad to help him out."
