Actor George Cooney and wife Amal welcomed a new addition to their family yesterday. The couple adopted a Bassett Hound named Millie, from the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society. The organization was super psyched about it and blogged about the Clooney's search for another 4 legged family member, making their household a foursome.
According to Vogue, the couple reportedly brought Millie to meet their other rescue dog, Louis and reportedly, hit it off well. The Humane Society proudly posted, "They were searching for a Basset Hound and saw Millie's picture on Petfinder" and added, "They did a 'meet and greet' with her and spent time introducing her to Louie." It was all good, since Millie and Louie got along fabulously.
The cute mutt is four-years old that might get bit by the acting bug, just like his daddy. The website boosted that dog was gorgeous enough to land a 'Hush Puppies' commercial job. They continued on with compliments, as if they were appealing for fan approval and wrote, "Despite those adorable googly eyes, pretty long ears, and shorty legs, Millie was found without a home and hoping for food scraps outside of a local restaurant in San Gabriel earlier this month." Good looks and luck run in the family. They said the mixed hounds luck had "changed for the better," when the Clooneys adopted her.
We don't know for certain exactly why the worlds most beautiful couple decided to give the adorable adoptee a home but, perhaps Amal needed a little "pick me upper" since the high profile trial of Egyptian client and reporter, Mohamed Fahmy was a disappointment. The journalist was represented by Clooney's 37 year old British-Lebanese wife and international attorney and was found guilty last year in the case and found guilty yet again in this most recent trial. We can assume that the newlyweds has yet to place a bun in the oven due to Amal's busy schedule, in and out of international courts.
The Huffington Post reported that an Egyptian court has sentenced three journalists from Al Jazeera TV to three years in prison for "operating without a press license and broadcasting material harmful to Egypt."
The intellect has her hands tied when it comes to the Egyptian courts. MStars News previously reported about the sentencing this past August. She wasn't too happy about the rulings and says, "We will appeal this verdict and hope it will be reversed. We are now going to be holding a series of meetings with government officials where we will be asking for Mr. Fahmy's immediate deportation to Canada." Fahmy is a naturalized Canadian who gave up his citizenship in Egypt. Well we do know for certain, the former eligible bachelor did a great job finding a beautiful and intelligent woman. He must have been looking for this thing called, substance. Well, I think he found it!
