Back by popular demand, Fox revives the iconic sci-fi/horror series with an all-new TV spot and poster. In the revival of The X-Files, will paranormal investigators Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) discover "The Truth?"
As we previously mentioned,13 years have passed since FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully were on the TV screen solving weird and supernatural cases. The reboot of Fox's popular sci-fi series continues with an all-new 6 episode arc. Not only are the two leads back to reprise their iconic roles, creator Chris Carter will takeover as showrunner once again for the franchise that launched his and many other careers.
According to IGN, a new teaser poster has been released. The tagline on the new poster below has an updated spin on the original series' famous catchphrase, "I Want To Believe." After nine seasons, Mulder keeps the faith going as he continues to seek proof of extraterrestrial life. The new tagline is, "I Still Want To Believe."
When you look at the poster, which is an X-Ray, notice how that skull is too big to be human. Is that evidence of an alien's head? And why is there cracks on that huge forehead? Is this mysterious figure psychotic? Or did someone bash this alien life form's head with a sharp object?
Then there's the new TV spot, which possibly aired during the heavily promoted Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover special. Just before Halloween, a new TV spot, entitled The Truth, was also released. As we mentioned before, the latest teaser, They're Coming, was presented during an episode of Gotham.
The X-Files returns with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, January 24, 2016, following the NFC Championship Game. The event continues Monday, January 25, 2016 (8pm).
