Aerosmith singer – and once upon a time American Idol judge – Steven Tyler has reportedly started a charity called Janie's Fund that will aim at helping young girls who have been victims of sexual abuse.
Gossip Cop reports that the goal of the fund is to raise "awareness and financial support for underage girls who have experienced some sort of sexual trauma in their lives." The inspiration for the charity's name comes from the famed 1989 Aerosmith song, "Janie's Got a Gun" – a tune that is actually about child abuse.
Tyler released a video about the fund via Twitter, among other outlets, stating: "I've launched a program to support girls who have been abused and neglected. I call it Janie's Fund. Janie's Fund gives girls and young women feeling broken by neglect and abuse the resources they need to heal. It's been a long road, but now, Janie's got a gun? Nah. I'm proud to say, Janie's got a fund."

Via the fund's website, Tyler – or whoever wrote it – claims that by donating $5, "you'll help support these girls and you'll also be entered to win The Ultimate VIP Rock Experience..."
Which means that you'll be able to walk the red carpet with Tyler for the release of his first solo album. And sure, you can hang out with him backstage.
The announcement of Janie's Fund comes as November is the 26th anniversary of Aerosmith's hit song, "Janie's Got a Gun."
