Jessa Duggar & Ben Seewald Struggled on Their Newborn Son's Name!

It looks like there were quite a few hiccups when it came to naming Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald's newborn son. MStars News has learned that the parents waited so long to announce the name of their son because they actually struggled with picking the right name for the 9lb baby boy.

According to People, the new parents said they wanted their son to have a "strong name." New mom Jessa told the magazine the reason it took so long for them to come up with a name was because, "We want to give him a strong name, with a lot of meaning."

MStars News previously reported that the 23-year-old gave birth at home to her first child two days after her own birthday. Baby Seewald was born on Nov. 5th. We also learned that everything didn't quite go smoothly with the delievery. Michelle Duggar called 911 after her daughter started to bleed a lot from childbirth. Jessa and her son were rushed to the hospital, but everything came out fine.

So, back to the baby names.

Jessa claimed that she preferred names of "heroes from the Christian faith" and reassures her fans that she and Ben won't be using the "letter theme" like her parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. They named all of their kids with the letter "J." Their eldest son, Josh and his wife Anna Duggar seemed to follow the family tradition and named all four of their kids with the letter "M."

Jessa seems to be following in her sister, Jill Duggar Dillard's footsteps when it comes to baby names. Jill and Derick Dillard named their son Israel David. As for Ben, he has to remember that his son will have his name for the rest of his life. As for Jessa, she's been looking at her baby boy's face to try to pick out a name for him. "He is going to have this name for the rest of his life," the 20-year-old noted. "It's been really cool to meet him, look at his face and match a name to who he is. It is going to be very special. A lot of thought has gone into it."

Earlier this week the couple revealed that they haven't settled on their son's middle name. In the adorable snapshot below, Jessa wrote to her fans and followers, "Every time I look into this precious little face, I can't believe he's really mine! I feel blessed beyond measure! P.S. Still haven't settled on his middle name."
