Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's eldest son and heir to the throne, Prince Charles, spent six days on a Royal Tour in Australia. His birthday fell during the tour as did the horrific terrorist attacks in France. The Prince tweeted a message of support to the French President via the House of Clarence, the official office of the British royals. "From Australia, The Prince of Wales is sending President Hollande a message of profound sympathy and solidarity with the people of Paris," his representatives wrote.

His Majesty, who turned 67 years old on Saturday, asked for a moment of silence during his birthday celebration, says People. He says, "Our hearts go out as I am sure you will agree to all those who have been affected in the most dreadful way by these bestial attacks. So perhaps in view of this I ask all of you just to observe one minute's silence in memory off all those who have been affected and lost their lives."

His wife The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker, was present for the celebration. The couple attended St. George's Cathedral in Perth and afterwards greeted "a choir, parishioners and well-wishers," reported Hello magazine.

Afterwards, the couple mingled with 600 guests, including twenty-four children who share the same birthday with the future King, along with several entertainers and balloon artist. The event was hosted by West Australian Premier, Colin Bernett and wife Lyn at the Cotteslow Civic Centre. Afterwards, the Duchess visited the children's wing at the State Library of Western Australia.
