Season 11 of Bones continues its latest season on Fox. In tonight's Episode 8, as the Jeffersonian take on a new case, are Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) ready to face High Treason in the Holiday Season?
While making Thanksgiving decorations, Brennan is on the phone, trying to keep a secret from Booth. The two are arguing about whether or not they should have turkey. Booth will invite everyone and cook the dead bird to get his turkey meat. Unfortunately, they both have to deal with a dead body at the gold course.
Aubrey (John Boyd) arrives alongside Camille (Tamara Taylor), Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) at the crime scene. While analyzing the dead body, Brennan invites all her colleagues to her Thanksgiving party. Back at the Jeffersonian, Hodgins spots shrapnel in her body, realizing their victim was carved open.
From Angela's facial recognition, Hodgins recognizes its Vivienne Prince, an Eric Snowden-like journalist who released classified government documents to the public. Vivienne's editor expected her death after the numerous threats she received. Vivienne's replacement is excited to get on the front page.
Government agent Ryan Gill visits Camille, who doesn't want to share information with him. Brennan and Booth argue over Vivienne Prince if she is a traitor or a patriot. Another NSA agent didn't kill, nor hire a hit on Vivienne. The NSA has already listened in on Booth and Brennan's conversation and mocks them for having no evidence.
With the exact time of body dump, Hodgins isn't too happy with Camille about the NSA being at the office. Hodgins believes they are being watched by the NSA, who want to get to Vivienne's killer first. Brennan and Booth investigate Vivienne's home, finding her insulin but no laptop.
Aubrey interrogates Vivienne's husband, who blames Kate Colfax for her death. In his standoff with Gill, Aubrey doesn't want the NSA's help, even after he leaks about the encryption key. Aubrey then interrogates Kate, hut she turns the table and interviews him.
Aubrey then tells her about the encryption key from The American and her prints at Vivienne's home. Kate gives back Vivienne's laptop, which has a note about "George Orwell." They need Vivienne's blood to get past her laptop's password. With the DNA match, they read Vivienne's email, which has an address.
At the hotel, Booth busts through the door and points his gun at Gill. Brennan finds blood splatter in the room. From a busboy, Booth learns the husband was ready to kill Vivienne for cheating on him. Interrogating her husband, Aubrey learns he has the perfect alibi.
Because Ryan's prints are everywhere in the room, Hodgins thinks The American is Gill. While Booth suddenly gets a visit from his son, Parker, Camille realizes their victim was tortured. After Gill spills what he knows, Booth arrests him for treason.
Aubrey interrogates the NSA agent, who admits he tortured Vivienne and walked away, leaving her alive. With new evidence, Booth and Aubrey hear Gill's confession. Hodgins then leaves Vivienne's drive with her secret drive.
Hodgins hands over the drive to Booth, who wants to destroy it. At the Thanksgiving party, everyone is enjoying themselves.
