Ranveer Singh Bald in 'Bajirao Mastani': Actor Freaked Out? [VIDEO]

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly gone bald to potray the role of Peshwa Bajirao in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Bajirao Mastani. Eros International recently posted a video showing how Singh freaked out before shedding his locks.

Actors usually shed a lot of weight or gain a lot of weight for their roles in different films. It was reported by NDTV Movies that for his role in Dangal, Aamir Khan gained 50 pounds. Now, to totally immerse himself for the role of Peshwa Bajirao, Singh also joined the club of method actors.

Eros International posted a video of Singh as he went bald for his role. The video shows a confident Singh but at the same time, one can hear him saying that he knew that he had to shed his hair but he did not realize the fact that they will cut his hair in reality. It was reported by MStars News that Singh has not charged for his role in Bajirao Mastani.

One cannot simply ignore the dedication he has given to this project.

It was previously reported that the role of Bajirao was also offered to Shah Rukh Khan but the actor was not comfortable in going bald for such a long period. In July 2014, it got confirmed that Lootera star, Singh, will potray the role of Bajirao.

Singh is not the only actor getting bald for Bajirao Mastani. Indian Express reported that Tanvi Azmi, the 55-year-old actress, who will play the role of Singh's mother in the film has also shed all of her locks.

"I play a role displaying a lot of strength and emotions, an exciting part. Yes, I have gone bald for the film. From the beginning of the film, I knew I had to go bald someday soon, but I never thought it would be so immediate." Azmi said. "I had initially thought I would shave off my head in April, but we were doing an exciting scene and I just decided to go bald that time. It was completely impromptu. I got [a] good response as well for that."

Bajirao Mastani will be Singh's second film in collaboration with Bhansali. In 2013, the duo worked together in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Lam-Leela in which Singh's real-life girlfriend Deepika Padukone played the role of Leela. Bajirao Mastani is a period drama film that will follow the story of Peshwa Bajiro, his first wife Kashibai (Priyanka Chopra) and his second wife Mastani (Padukone). The film is slated to release on Dec. 18, 2015.
