James Blake has just released a new single, "Digital Lion," off of his upcoming album Overgrown. The track was posted on the website of Blake's own independent label, "1-800-Dinosaur." Overgrown is Blake's sophomore release after his hit, self-titled album made him into a music festival must-have of 2011 and 2012. "Digital Lion" follows the release of his other single "Retrograde" (provided below) and features legendary producer Brian Eno (U2, David Bowie ... if you don't know Eno, you don't know music). The track is dreamy and mesmerizing with hints of surprise sewn into its tapestry. ENJOY!
Overgrown is set for even more guests that span the spectrum of music. Kanye West and Jay-Z were even rumored to be featured guests on the British vocalists sophomore album. Unfortunately those rumors were not true, though the three did hang out at an L.A. recording studio so don't be surprised for collaboration in the future. Luckily, there are a few rappers appearing on Overgrown, including RZA of the Wu Tang Clan. He appears on the track "Take a Fall for Me" and raps the line, ""Fish and chips with vinegar, with a cold glass of stout." So that is definitely something to look forward to.
James Blake is one of the most impressive musical acts of today so it would be a good idea to catch up on his previous work and to stay tuned for Overgrown, which is out on April 8, 2013.
