Chuck Todd Accuses Donald Trump of Using Hearsay for 9/11 Comments on ‘Meet the Press’ [WATCH]

Donald Trump made a stop by Meet the Press this past Sunday for an interview with host Chuck Todd. Naturally, their discussion turned towards Trump's recent comments about 9/11 – in which he claims to have seen "thousands" of people cheering in Jersey City, New Jersey as the WTC towers came down in New York City. Todd, however, blamed Trump of using "hearsay" to come up with his statistics.

The GOP frontrunner has been incessantly questioned about his comments. He first spoke with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, who assured him that his remarks were actually proven to be incorrect by authorities, who state that rumors were swirling around the Internet for quite some time but were never deemed truthful.

During his time with Todd on Sunday, the host pushed Trump for further explanation, stating, "If I said, 'Well, people have said Mr. Trump's not worth $10 billion,' ... you wouldn't make a business deal based on retweets and based on hearsay."

Todd later told Trump that because he is in fact running for the President of the United States, his "words matter" – which is when the GOP frontrunner asked Todd to "take it easy" and "play cool."

Trump further noted that he has no plan to take back his comments, largely because he once saw it on television and has a "very good memory" – something he's been known to speak on in the past.

To back up his claims, Trump cited a 2001 article written by journalist Serge Kovaleski which says that people were "allegedly" seen celebrating the 9/11 attacks, which is a notion that could never be verified, according to journalist Fredrick Kunkle.

And, in an attempt to add more fuel to the fire, after Trump called Kovaleski a "nice reporter," he then, allegedly, went into an impression of him, seemingly mocking his disability.
