The beef between Iggy Azalea and Erykah Badu has sure been one of the funniest of the year. Badu voiced her opinions of Azalea's music genre while hosting the Soul Train Awards. There were words exchanged on Twitter between the two since then, but somehow they managed to call a truce and end the petty war.
But given Badu's "apology," perhaps it's better to say they may have ended it.
Badu initiated the beef while broadcasting to the world at the Soul Train Awards that Azalea can only participate in the non-rap categories because she is definitely not hip-hop. But in good spirits, she even took a jab at herself by saying:
"As you know, I am the queen of neo soul and people say I have this common effect on rappers- that I make them change gods and wear crochet hats, shoulder pads. So they have banned me from all the hip-hop awards with a sign saying 'Erykah Badu, leave our rappers alone.'"
Azalea responded on Twitter that people constantly discredit her accomplishments. However, Badu was not coming for Azalea's accomplishments, but rather her lyrical ability as a rap artist. Of course, Badu responded and quoted her by tweeting:
...Well that'll be the LAST time I send an uber for you! I can guaran DAMN tee you THAT. https://t.co/gct3IUpmYC — ErykahBadoula (@fatbellybella) December 4, 2015
In a weird way, Badu thought it be best that she apologize to the Australian rapper. Not because she feels bad about it, but because her daughters, Seven and Mars, are fans of the rapper.
Rolling Out reports that Badu said, "I want to do this for my daughters. I want to apologize to Iggy Azalea because she's one of their favorite artist and they listen to her all the time and it's for them."
After that, Badu's apology turns left and leaves viewers wondering was it even an apology.
"It's for them, but when I think about it, if ya'll love her so much, why don't ya'll go be with her then. Go on, be with her, y'all. Go on, Puma. Go on Mars. Is Iggy Azalea gonna miss the healing seminar to go up to the school to sit across from the teacher so she can tell you that all y'all been doing is talking to your neighbor and not getting you lesson. Is she? Where's Iggy for that?"

Rolling Out reports, a little after Badu posted her 'apology' video, Azalea extended an invitation via Twitter for Badu's daughters to attend her upcoming concert for free.
