Benedict Cumberbatch's superhero film Doctor Strange is among the most anticipated of 2016, introducing the Sorcerer Supreme's powers to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Dr. Stephen Strange had been briefly mentioned in The Avengers. Producer Kevin Feige has released the first news about Rachel McAdams' role in the film.
Production for the 2016 film is well underway ahead of its Fall 2016 release date, and Feige, the mastermind behind the MCU, has been sharing the first real juicy facts about the upcoming film, notoriously in the most recent Entertainment Weekly cover.

One mystery about the upcoming film is which Marvel character will McAdams be playing, as there has been no official announcement and there have been numerous rumors, including that she might be Night Nurse, even though it is believed that character is the same one played by Rosario Dawson in Netflix's Daredevil and A.K.A. Jessica Jones.
Regarding McAdams' role, Feige had this to say:
"[McAdams plays] a fellow surgeon that has a history with Strange and is his sort of lynchpin to his old life, once he steps into he role of a sorcerer," said the producer, via Cinema Blend. "She is someone he connects with at the beginning, and reconnects with, and helps anchor his humanity."
According to Coming Soon, the producer and Marvel Studios president spoke at length about the two signature pieces the Sorcerer Supreme will be carrying in the film, namely the Cloak of Levitation (which allows him to fly, though he "doesn't fly like Superman or like Thor") and the Eye of Agamotto, which can manipulate probabilities – an eerie and fascinating power similar to what Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch can do.
The Doctor Strange film will be keeping a lot of the staple look and feel of the original comic book, including the psychedelic look (there was a sneak peek of that in this year's Ant-Man, when Paul Rudd's character goes into the quantum realm) as well as the spells with "tongue-twisty fun names."
Unfortunately, as production barely started last November, it may be months until we get the first Doctor Strange trailer, which will hopefully feature bits of the rest of its all-star cast, which also includes Oscar winner Tilda Swinton, 12 Years a Slave actor Chiwetel Ejiofor and TV Hannibal himself, Mads Mikkelsen, who joins the MCU years after movie Hannibal Lecter, Anthony Hopkins, did the same in Thor.
