R&B superstar Beyoncé Knowles and London-based Topshop have formed a 50-50 joint venture company — Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd. — to produce an athletic streetwear brand. On October 23, Moda Operandi, the flash-sale site that often allows you to pre-order items before they hit stores, unleashed possibly the most luxurious accessory ever. They offered 24K gold iPads with a price tag of $3,065. Another high-end retailer, Brikk, is selling their own luxury iPhones. The German company specializes in giving tech devices high-fashion (and high-priced) makeovers. Russian Fashion Week has been held biannually in Moscow for the past 15 years, yet many Russian designers have struggled to grow their businesses. The reason for this is lack of support. According to "Fashionista," Moscow has never had programs, funds, scholarships or mentorship for emerging designers like New York and London do. On Friday, Oct. 24, the president and co-founder of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, Alexander Shumsky, announced the launch of the Russian Fashion Council. Nike has worked with a number of fashion models in its 50-year history, but never on the scale it has worked with Karlie Kloss, who fronts Nike's fall campaign. Nike unveiled its spring/summer 2015 women's collection in New York City Wednesday, Oct. 22, which kicked off with a presentation from Nike CEO Mark Parker and a small runway presentation with more than two dozen of the female athletes Nike sponsors.
