Yesterday morning, Wednesday, Dec. 10, The Hollywood Reporter had its annual Women in Entertainment event, which honors … you guessed it … women in the entertainment industry. During the ceremony, the late comedienne Joan Rivers was honored by not only her daughter Melissa Rivers, who finally broken silence on her mother’s sudden death, but also comedian – and new girlfriend of Masters of Sex star Michael Sheen – Sarah Silverman. And while many were thinking it possible the newly announced Fashion Police host Kathy Griffin would be speaking, we cannot say we’re disappointed in Silverman’s speech, because as usual, she did not disappoint – even when she began speaking about Rivers’ ban from The Tonight Show. As Comedy Central's The Colbert Report winds down its days – setting up to end next Thursday, Dec. 18 – it's been a wonder as to when Late Show host David Letterman will end his late night show and let Stephen Colbert head on over to the Ed Sullivan Theater. Well, now the date has been announced ... and viewers around the world are finding themselves coming to terms with the fact that the iconic comedian will soon be off the air. Kathy Griffin is settling into her new role as the host of E!'s "Fashion Police," taking over from the dearly departed Joan Rivers and wasting no time in letting celebrities know they're on watch. Taking on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" last night, the actor/comedian set her sights on Britney Spears, Anderson Cooper and Ryan Seacrest, as well as host Kimmel. As reported by "MStars News," after comedy legend Rivers died in September, Griffin will take over as host when Fashion Police returns for the 2015 Golden Globe Awards. "I understand I have some very large shoes to fill," explained Griffin of the new role, "so in her honor I will not be holding back." "I will be giving no passes," the red-haired host warned. "I am going to let people have it, I'm going to bring the hammer down." She then proceeded to deliver a fashion rebuke to Kimmel worthy of "Fashion Police," calling out the host's attire, saying "... and you ... might want to up your game," she directed at the man behind the desk. "I'm tired of the same suit every time. I get it: it's Gucci. It fits well ... yawn." "Give me some sparkle," she added. "Give me a fig leaf. Take a risk for God's sake. "Top Five," Chris Rock's new movie that he wrote and directed and stars in — is all about lists. So who are Chris Rock and Jimmy Fallon's top five rappers of all time in 2014? The answers are surprising, to say the least, and alongside illustrious names like Jay-Z, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Drake and Kanye West, there are also a couple of not-so-famous names. As The Colbert Report is winding down its days on Comedy Central, the host is inviting in a slew of surprising and powerful guests. Last night’s episode was held in Washington D.C., and of course, he had to have the United States Commander in Chief, President Barack Obama, in the guest chair. If you filled your evening with some CONAN last night then you met easily one of the top sketches of the week: Christopher Walken calling in DURING his performance as Captain James Hook on NBC’s special, Peter Pan Live. It seems that while Allison Williams was off playing the role of a boy who never wanted to grow up, Walken was apparently delirious, having no clue as to where he was and why he was there. During last night’s episode of The Colbert Report, host Stephen Colbert welcomed in director Christopher Nolan to discuss his newest Matthew McConaughey-led film Interstellar.
