Before James Gandolfini died earlier this year from a hear attack suffered in Italy, the Sopranos star was once again working with HBO on a new mini-series called Criminal Justice. Though the series lost its leading man, production has not halted and a replacement has been found. Academy Award winner Robert De Niro will now star in the 7-episode crime drama in the place of Gandolfini who will have a posthumous executive producer credit on the series. Read More »
Last night, international superstar Madonna premiered her new 17-minute short film, secretprojectrevolution, at the Gagosian Gallery in New York City, marking the start of her Art for Freedom initiative, "an online global initiative to further freedom of expression." New Orleans recording artist and self-proclaimed "Queen of Bounce," Big Freedia organized a gigantic "twerk off" that just broke the Guinness World Record for "Most People Twerking Simultaneously." 358 people, ranging from 8 to 80 years old, accompanied the performer and danced for two minutes straight (under strict requirements, by the way). Inside Llewyn Davis is the newest Coen Brothers movie out in December of this year, following the story of a struggling folk musician in the 1960s. The film stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, John Goodman and Justin Timberlake. As you can imagine, the movie is full of musical numbers, so as a special treat these songs will be brought to life on stage this Sunday at a benefit concert.
