When Marvel announced its phase 3 movie schedule, we couldn't help but notice that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was set for a 2017 release, which just so happens to be a year before the 2018 release of Avengers: Infinity Wars - Part 1. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are well aware of crossover events taking place with characters and plotlines, so should we assume that the Guardians sequel is a prequel to the first Infinity War film? After all, the character Thanos (played by Josh Brolin) is involved in both plot lines, so it would make sense.
