There's hunger, and then there's starvation. It's a fine line from 'I want that burger' to 'I need that double quarter pounder or else someone is going to have a really bad day.' Joe Anderson, former Chicago Bears wide reciever, is the latter. However, it's not food he's starving for--it's success. Early in November, Anderson stood outside the Houston Texans training facility, where he "begged" for a job. He was dressed in workout clothes, cleats, and receiver gloves, holding a sign that read, "Not homeless... but STARVING for success! Will run routes for food." Johnny Manziel will always have critics. Since college, analysts have debated whether or not he has what it takes to be a productive quarterback in the NFL. Some of the critiques against him may be warranted, while others are probably just because he's a flamboyant guy and players like that always seem to draw heat. One person who has been the most vocal against Manziel is ESPN 'Sports Center's' Merril Hoge. The Chicago Bears will hire John Fox as their new head coach, according to reports. The NFL team have apparently settled on the former Denver Broncos head coach — who parted ways with (read: was fired by) the Broncos and their GM John Elway on Monday following the Broncos loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday — to replace former Bears coach Marc Trestman, who was let go after the season. Fox had a 46-18 record over his four years with the Broncos — one with Tim Tebow at quarterback and the other three with Peyton Manning — and went to the playoffs each year for a 2-3 record. Chicago Bears teammates Kyle Long and Martellus Bennet have engaged in a Twitter spat after one of them unfollowed the other. Offensive linesman and right guard Long and tight end Bennett proved that the Bears don't even need to be on the field to continue to confuse and dismay fans, with the 5-11 Bears season ending three weeks ago in a hail of terribly thrown Jay Cutler passes with a 13-9 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, which led to the eventual firing of coach Marc Trestman. FSU quarterback Jameis Winston has declared for the 2015 NFL Draft, and there are plenty of teams circling the QB, who is seen as the second best quarterback prospect in the draft class. According to reports everybody from the Tennessee Titans - who have the second pick in the draft - to the coach-less Chicago Bears and New York Jets, as well as the St Louis Rams and Houston Texans, and even playoff teams like the Arizona Cardinals are interested in the QB, whose off-field indiscretions have plenty of analysts wary. Thus ends Trestman's first stint as an NFL head coach. He previously worked as an offensive coordinator with the Oakland Raiders, assistant head coach with the Miami Dolphins and head coach in the Canadian Football League, according to SB Nation. The Bears rarely hire coaches with NFL head coaching experience. The Bears also fired general manager Phil Emery and offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer according to ESPN. Emery is responsible for hiring Trestman to replace former coach Lovie Smith and for inking Cutler to an elaborate and expensive extension. The New York Jets have fired Rex Ryan. The controversial head coach had already reportedly cleaned out his desk, and Jets owner Woody Johnson today obliged both Rex and General Manager John Idzik by parting ways with the pair. This year the Jets went 4-12, the worst record the team has posted since 2007, and once again missed the NFL playoffs making it their fourth season in a row without postseason action. The Jets have hired two former NFL GMs - Charley Casserly and Ron Wolf - to oversee their new hires, while speculation is mounting that Rex Ryan could head to the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders or Chicago Bears.
