The comedy world has still been trying to move on following the tragic and unexpected death of Joan Rivers earlier this year. The 81-year-old's E! television series "Fashion Police" has also been trying to find a replacement for the star without much luck. The series, which returns in January, is only two months away from returning to the airwaves and news today is revealing that Joan's daughter Melissa Rivers has personally asked Kathy Griffin to take over Joan's spot. According to Radar Online, the series is looking at Griffin to take over the chair left vacant by Joan, and that it was Rivers's own daughter who brought up the idea. "Melissa told Kathy it is what her mother would have wanted," an insider revealed to the site. While "People" magazine reported that Kathy was approached by the network earlier this month, the red-headed star didn't know whether or not she wanted to take on the hosting gig. "I don't know if the situation is correct or right at this time for me. We'll see," the star explained to the magazine.
