American designer Prabal Gurung launched his first beauty collaboration with MAC Cosmetics. Gurung chose Paris during Haute Couture Fashion Week to introduce his new project in July. The Singapore-born, Nepal-bred designer launched his eponymous label in 2009, which is also when he began joining forces with MAC for the beauty side of his runway equation. The women's line, Kate Spade New York, started with handbags in 1993, while the Jack Spade men's brand followed with satchel and carry-alls in 1996.
