The first time Elvis Presley walked into a recording studio was on July 18th, 1953. It was at the Memphis Recording Service at 706 Union Avenue, the home of Sam Phillips' legendary Sun Records. It was on that day the legend of Elvis was born. During the session he recording the songs "My Happiness" and "That's When Your Heartache Begin." From there RCA signed Presley to a $40,000 record deal. Those songs will now be surfacing once more as Jack White paid more than $300,000 at an auction to own them. Reports confirm that Jack White's longtime keyboardist Isaiah "Ikey" Owens was found dead in his hotel room on Tuesday morning (October 14). Neil Young's hi-fi audio player/digital music service has already reach it's $800,000 goal on Kickstarter. The mark was reached at 11 p.m. EST Tuesday night, a mere ten hours after the campaign launched. The total currently sits at $1.5 million raised, largely thanks to the ability to pre-order the music player, as well as recieve exclusive artist editions engraved with laser-cut signatures from Tom Petty, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Arcade Fire. In stark contrast to the overblown, unhinged guitar sound of his recent solo albums, White performed the back-catalog track accompanied by a fiddle, double bass and banjo during Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating The Music of Inside Llewyn Davis, a star-studded concert surrounding the titular film that raised money for the National Recording Preservation Foundation. Jack White famously had a "Just Divorced" party after he and model/singer Karen Elson split up back in 2011, but he's definitely not celebrating it anymore. His ex-wife has hit the former White Stripes frontman with a restraining order, after mounting behavioral issues led to Elson's decision to file the legal order.
