After almost 30 years of being devoted to the Church of Scientology, actor Tom Cruise is leaving his religion behind to become a more loving and present parent to daughter Suri Cruise, 9. Suri spends most of her time with mother Katie Holmes, who is divorced from Cruise. Reportedly, Cruise video chats and talks to Suri on the phone but "it's just not the same." HBO recently aired its uber-anticipated documentary about Scientology entitled Going Clear. In the film, writer-director Paul Haggis was featured as one of the key celebrity interviewees, as he was in the religion for over three decades before up and leaving. And now, Haggis is coming clean saying that all of his speaking out has not gone unnoticed by the famed church. In fact, he’s claiming that he was once approached by a supposed reporter for Time magazine, Mark Webber, and asked to sit down for an interview. If you've seen HBO's Going Clear documentary about Scientology then you already know that a certain portion was dedicated to actor John Travolta, who has been in the religion for quite some time. The actor, who has faced gay rumors of being a closeted homosexual in the past, has always spoken brightly about the famed L. Ron Hubbard group, and after the release of Going Clear, people were clamoring for some sort of comment. And well, now they've got it. Travolta has officially broken his silence on the film. And despite all the negative experiences depicted in it, he claims that it's been "nothing but brilliant" to him.
