The trailer for director Roland Emmerich's new film Stonewall just dropped last week. And while many assumed the LGBT community would champion the film, it looks like things have gone the other way. Of course, they did support the movie at first, acknowledging that Emmerich's film would undoubtedly promote equality, but after catching a glimpse of the trailer, it looks as if they're thinking otherwise. After years of being known as one of the most famous symbols of gay and LGBT pride and rights, the Stonewall Inn has officially been made a landmark. Located in New York City, the Stonewall Inn was the site of the renowned Stonewall Riots, which took place back in 1969 when being homosexual was basically an illegal act. And now, just about 46 years later, the Landmarks Preservation Commission has announced its status in not only the LGBT community, but also New York's history. Read More »
