The San Francisco 49ers have parted ways with star coach Jim Harbaugh, who is on his way to the University of Michigan. All indications are that the coach who went 49-22-1 and tookt eh team to one Super Bowl appearance in his four seasons with the Niners will leave the NFL and take over the NCAA's Wolverines, where he starred as a quarterback between 1983-86. The Niners will now turn to a new coach - perhaps the recently deposed Rex Ryan - to guide them to better than a 68% win percentage, and decide whether or not to trade quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Jay Cutler is back as the Chicago Bears starting quarterback. With last week's starter Jimmy Clausen suffering a concussion after Chicago's loss to Detroit on Sunday, and the NFL team wanting to finish the season on a high, Bears head coach Marc Trestman has turned back to his benched, $126 million star. Will this mean the husband of The Hills and Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari could stay in Chicago and avoid a trade to the New York Jets, Washington Redskins, Tennessee Titans or St Louis Rams? Rajon Rondo, Boston Celtics All Star point guard and championship star, has been traded to the Dallas Mavericks, joining Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis, Chandler Parson and Tyson Chandler in the biggest NBA trade of the 2014-15 season so far. The Celtics will reportedly receive Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder, Jameer Nelson and both a future 1st and 2nd round draft pick for the temperamental Rondo. Thierry Henry, legendary Arsenal and France striker, is retiring. The World Cup-winning superstar left the New York Red Bulls after they were knocked out of MLS playoff contention earlier this month, which prompted speculation Arsenal's all-time leading goal scorer would return to the London club for the Premier League season. In his career filled with accolades, he won the Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey with Barcelona (2009), the Premier League twice and the FA Cup three times with Arsenal, and also took home a FIFA World Cup (1998) and Euro championship (2000) representing France. In a move called "an earthquake" for baseball, former Oakland As and Boston Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester has signed a six year, $155 million dollar contract... not with former team the Red Sox as expected, but with the upstart Chicago Cubs. In an offseason full of notable moves, the Lester signing is massive, and will likely set off a whole train of player movement with the Red Sox, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies now all looking to solidify their rosters. The St. Louis Rams have seen their fair share of controversy in the past week — with the events of Ferguson still close by, and their "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" statement before last week's Oakland Raiders game — but at least they've still got a healthy sense of humor. In a show of expert trolling against the Washington Redskins on Sunday, the team sent out the six rostered players that they received in the trade with Washington for their 2012 No. 2 pick — which Washington then used on Robert Griffin III — for the coin flip as honorary captains. With RG3 currently also in Washington coach Jay Gruden's doghouse, it was a salient, funny point showing up their opponent by displaying just how much they gave up for a now-backup quarterback. Are San Francisco 49ers star quarterback Colin Kaepernick and coach Jim Harbaugh done in San Fran? It certainly looks that way, with the team looking like a "dumpster fire" after a disastrous 24-13 loss to the 2-11 Oakland Raiders. The calls for Kaepernick to go are getting louder and indications that Harbaugh will leave after this season are becoming more clear. The questions facing the 49ers are whether or not they'll stick with Kaepernick at quarterback or pick his replacement in the NFL draft and what they can get for Harbaugh in a trade with the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins or Raiders. After yesterday's loss Harbaugh wouldn't comment on his future beyond the final three 49er games for the season, saying, "No. 1, my priorities are winning football games," he told the media.
