It wasn't all smiles during Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People Gala last night. Apparently Kim Kardashian and Kanye West seemed a little innerved when comedian Amy Schumer decided to steal their red carpet moment in the spotlight for a quick laugh. In fact, they both just seemed incredibly unimpressed. Read More »
Better catch up on your Girls, folks. It's being reported that star and creator Lena Dunham doesn't plan on doing too much more. In fact, the actress-writer is now filming the fifth season of her acclaimed HBO series, and has said that Season 6 will probably be its last. What she'll do after remains to be seen, but after her pretty interesting performance on ABC's Scandal – and the fact that Girls was such a unique success – our guess is Dunham will probably be just fine. "Live from Washington D.C., it's the White House Correspondents Dinner! " – or whatever dumb opening line you want to think of. Anyway, it's being reported that Saturday Night Live's very own Cecily Strong is promising some great fun and big laughs while hosting the White House Correspondents Dinner this coming April 25. And given her past as part of SNL's Weekend Update portion of the weekly sketch show, it looks like she is the perfect selection to follow President Barack Obama. Read More »
Well, it's happened, folks. Jon Stewart has announced his final Daily Show episode, which means that things just got real. As much as we hate to admit it, the political satirist will soon be leaving his Comedy Central seat, the one he's held for the past 17 years, and give it up to young stand up comedian Trevor Noah. Hopefully, of course, he'll just give Noah a new chair, because otherwise that's pretty rank. Anyway, whether you're excited or not about Noah coming onboard – c'mon, give him a chance! – rest easy for now because we've still got a little over three months left with Stewart. Read More »
So, this could be the scariest thing we’ve ever encountered. Not the getting high with Tommy Chong part – that sounds like a blast. What’s terrifying is the thought of walking through a supposed haunted house while stoned out of your skull. But it seems there’s a group of people willing to do it, film it and upload it: Funny or Die. In this new video, the comedy site recently paired a group of people alongside Chong for a segment called Scared Stoned with Tommy Chong. Together, the group got high, talked a little bit about the origin story of the now-famed 4/20, and walked through what they believed to be a haunted house. During the bit, cops seemingly busted the joint (no pun intended … okay, maybe a little) and walked them outside. But when they got there, it wasn’t exactly a police car waiting for them. Read More »
It's 4/20, everyone, and what that means is that there are many people across the country (and perhaps even the world?) who are sparking up some joints throughout the entire day. And while most of us are doing so illegally, there are some places in the United States where it's perfectly legal. For example, Denver, Colorado. And to prove that, the Denver Police Department recently tweeted out a supportive pro-weed message to the denizens of their lovely city, specifically to enjoy, but of course, consume responsibly. The lighthearted tweet came last night, letting the citizens of Denver know that the police see them "rollin'" and they "ain't hatin'" on the fact that they'll be enjoying themselves on this day. But still, they better do it in a responsible manner. Read More »
Well, it’s 4/20, folks. To kick us off, the fine team over at Team Coco decided to drop the world premiere of celebrated stoner (and sure, legendary musician) Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard’s music video for “It’s All Going To Pot.” The song is off the duo’s new album Django and Jimmy, which will be released this coming June 2. Just a few days ago, CONAN writer Andres du Bouchet took to his oh, so hilarious Twitter account to let the world know just what he thought of the state of comedy in 2015. During the rant, he seemed to offend Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon's newest Spike, LL Cool J-hosted series Lip Sync Battle –– a show in which celebs battle it out for the title of Best Lip Sync-er...or something like that. Anyway, while the world thought the remarks were rather humorous – especially when he tweeted you could "shove your lip-syncing up you're a**" – apparently not everyone thought it was the most professional thing to do. In particular? Conan O'Brien himself. The TBS host recently kicked off a little beef with du Bouchet on Twitter. Read More »
On February 10, comedian Jon Stewart announced that he was leaving The Daily Show after an amazing 17-year run. Following the announcement, many were wondering just why in the hell he would leave the Comedy Central vehicle, especially when it appeared that his reign as top political satirist never faltered. But now, in a new interview, the comedian admits why he's leaving the show. Mainly, he just doesn't get the same satisfaction from the show. That, and he didn't want to cover the 2016 Presidential Election. Read More »
Not everyone appears to be enjoying Jimmy Fallon’s newfound smash television show Lip Sync Battle, which pairs two celebrities against one another in an “epic” battle of lip syncing –– pretty much exactly what the title calls for. Anyway, it’s being reported that CONAN writer Andres du Bouchet took to his Twitter account recently to slam the television show, and apparently invited people to “shove your lip-syncing up you’re a**.” Read More »
