Yandy Smith Receives Backlash for Throwing Mendeecees' Going Away Party

Love and Hip Hop New York’s Yandy Smith is doing the best she can to support her husband Mendeecees Harris as he prepares for his time in federal prison. While we have seen the emotional turmoil it has caused her on the show, the reality star is trying to stay as positive as possible. In light of his inevitable imprisonment, it is being reported that Smith has decided to celebrate her husband by throwing him a going away party. To say that the reality star was blasted for the festivities was an understatement.

While we have recently reported that Harris is set to turn himself in on Jan. 19 to start his sentence, this party does not come to much of a surprise.

According to Design &Trend, the reality star had social media users shaking their heads after a flyer of the party hit the Internet. “Yandy is giving her husband a going to prison party," a Twitter user wrote. “Is this a normal?”

“So are the funds going to pay Yandy back or to his restitution?” a Twitter user asked. As soon as news of the flyer spread, the amount of shade Smith and her manager received from Black Twitter was astronomical.

In watching Love and Hip Hop New York, an emotional Smith is trying her best to cope with the fact that Harris is going away. Although she is hurting she knows that she has to put on a brave face for the kids and continue being the best parent she can be.
