'LHHNY'-Mendeecees Harris Talks Prison Sentence And Rat Accusations

Love and Hip Hop New York's Mendeecees Harris just recently turned himself in for his 8-year sentence on drug trafficking charges. The reality star who took a plea deal for drug charges was rumored to have snitch on other people for less time. Before his imprisonment, Harris decided to set the record straight on the details of his sentence and challenge accusations of him being a rat.

According to VH1, Harris decided to make one last stop before turning himself in- one final interview. The reality star sat down with internet personality, Taxstone on the Tax Season podcast, to chop it up about all things with his family, his reputation and his prison sentence.

Taxstone brought up the fact that many people are calling him a rat for getting that much time for a drug trafficking charge.

Harris says that his "plea deal had always been 10 years, but the judge said I'll give you 8 years." He continues saying that "ten was never on the table.

When asked why he didn't want to go to trial, the reality star says that no one in their right mind would want to go to court against the feds. The reality star shares that there is a chance that he may receive less time because of the "two point reduction." Being that Harris is not a big time criminal and he has served some of his time already he may be back on the New York streets sooner then we think.

Harris also shared that his mind is on changing his life for the better.

"I'm just trying to raise my kids, make some money, and live," the star tells Taxstone.

Eight years away from family is definitely hard. Yandy Smith-Harris is already struggling to accept their situation but she is staying strong and holding down her family through the change.

Episode 9 of Love And Hip Hop New York will air on Monday at 8/7c on VH1.
