Director Sooraj Barjatya worked with his favorite Bollywood star, Salman Khan, after 16 years and delivered yet another blockbuster family drama film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Now, reports are swirling around the pair that they will work together on another project.
Barjatya made his Bollywood debut as a director in 1989 by directing Khan in the superhit film, Maine Pyar Kiya. Ever since then, the duo has worked together in blockbuster films like Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Hum Saath-Saath Hain and most recently, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Now reports from many online outlets suggest that the superhit pair is going to team up again. A source close to the team was quoted by PinkVilla as saying:
"Sooraj and Salman have been talking and discussing ideas for their next film. Not much is known about the subject of the film but Salman is very excited about it and so is Sooraj. After PRDP, they want to come back with an even special film."
One online outlet suggested that there are chances that the director-actor team will not work on a family drama this time as Khan as expressed his wish to Barjatya that they should work an action-thriller film this time. Apparently, their last collaboration, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, took 200 days to shoot and if the team will work again together, then there are chances that the director will work on a tighter schedule. A source close to the team told Spotboye:
"Prem Ratan was shot over 200 days across various locations in the country, which escalated its budget. And the film didn't perform as well as Salman had expected. So, this time, around, he has told Sooraj to shoot it on a tighter schedule, which will not only control the budget but also increase the likelihood of higher percentage returns."
It will be very interesting to see if Barjatya will direct an action film with Khan in the lead role.
Meanwhile, Khan is currently busy shooting his next film, Sultan, with NH10 actress Anushka Sharma. The film is slated to release on the festive season in 2016.
