Bollywood actress Yami Gautam, who had become an overnight sensation with her stellar performance in her debut film Vicky Donor, is now set to star opposite Hrithik Roshan in Sanjay Gupta's romantic thriller Kaabil. A sneak peek from the film reveals that her character will be a blind girl.
Gautam, who first appeared in Fair & Lovely commercials, slowly and steadily tasted success on the big screen with her performances in films like Total Siyapaa, Badlapur and the recent Sanam Re. According to Bollywood Life, she is reportedly taking classes to train herself into playing a visually impaired girl in the upcoming movie.
When the news was out that Rakesh Roshan will be producing Kaabil, speculations began doing the rounds that it was a rip-off of Somy Ali, Salman Khan-starrer Buland, which would never see the light of day. It was earlier reported by MStars News that in Buland, Ali's visually impaired character gets killed and Khan then goes on to avenge her death.
Rumours are now rife that the script of Kaabil has similarities with Khan's shelved project Buland and now that Gautam's character is revealed, it is only confirming the fact. However, no official statement has been issued yet from the makers of the upcoming edgy thriller.
While Gautam is busy with her workshops preparing to play the visually challenged girl and Roshan's love interest in the film, the latter is busy with Ashutosh Gowariker's historical drama Mohenjo Daro. The junior Roshan also joined hands with a game publisher to digitalize his onscreen avatar recently.
Rakesh's Filmkrafts' production venture, which is slated to release on the big screens on January 26th, next year also stars Ronit Roy, Sonu Sood and Girish Kulkarni in pivotal roles. According to a news report published in Koimoi, Roshan's thriller Kaabil might just clash with Ajay Devgn-Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Baadshaho in 2017.
