The ex-girlfriend of Kansas shooter Cedric Ford was charged with providing guns to the 38-year-old who opened fire at his workplace, Excel Industries. The lawn-care equipment manufacturer in Hesston, Kansas was a crime scene Thursday after Ford killed three, and wounded 14 others.

According to NBC News, Sarah Hopkins, 28, is facing up to 10 years in prison if she is found guilty of transferring the "Zastava AK-47-style semi-automatic rifle and a Glock .40-caliber handgun" to her ex. Hopkins was charged with one count of transfer of a weapon.

Prosecutors claimed that Hopkins knew Ford was a convicted felon, which meant he was not supposed to have firearms around him. Hopkins allegedly ended her relationship with Ford last summer.

Before going on a shooting rampage, Ford was handed a protection order from a woman -- not Hopkins -- claiming he abused her. The restraining order was given to Ford at his workplace one hour before the shooting happened.

Authorities believe that may have been a motive for the shooting. "I believe that probably is the trigger, and it went from there," Harvey County Sheriff T. Walton stated.

Friend and co-worker Matt Jarrell claimed that Ford appeared normal before going on the shooting rampage.

"He looked happy," Jarrell said. He was outside on break when the shooting started. "It was almost like a smile on his face. It's a picture I'm never going to get out of my head."

Ford's criminal record goes all the way back to 1996. Records revealed that he was charged with carrying a concealed firearm at 18 years old.

According to KWCH, the victims were identified as: Renee Benjamin, 30; Josh Higbee, 31; and Brian Sadowsky, 44. Ford was killed by police.
